Adapting Worlds Sports League Launch

The road has been challenging, but we're a month away from our first game of the Adapting Worlds Sports League! We plan on being different from the norm in the way we modify and adapt the various sports that are played all around the world. We've partnered with the City of Moore Parks and Recreation to host the AWSL at the Moore Community Center 301 S Howard, Moore OK 73160. At this location, we will be rotating different sports every 3 months. Our first sport, Rounders, is a version of baseball that's popular in Europe. We've further modified the game to be more adaptable to our athletes. Rounders will be shortened with an end date of Aug 30th. We will be starting an adaptive version of kickball in Sept until November. As we expand and grow, we will offer the more popular sports and activities on a permanent basis at different locations around Moore and possibly surrounding areas.

We have 3 ultimate goals with AWSL:

- Create as many adaptive sports as possible for recreation, as long as there are athletes willing to participate
- Create competitive leagues for the most popular sports that's as inclusive as possible, as much as we are able, and pay those athletes salaries funded by grants, donations, sponsorships, and other organizations (A lot of special needs community members cannot be employed due to various medical reasons. Adapting Worlds hopes to address this)
- Build a massive sports complex housing all of our activities that is specifically built for the special needs community

However lofty and creative these goals are, they cannot be achieved without help from the community. The world isn't built for the community we serve, but for us to create one for them, we need you. Please consider filling a volunteer position with Adapting Worlds Foundation. If you would like to help us financially, you can donate here
